2025 Governing Documents Review and Proposed Changes

Over the past 18 months, we have actively been working to review and identify updates needed for Walden's governing documents. It began with a volunteer committee of Walden neighbors reviewing the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions. The committee identified areas for potential updates, collected feedback from owners, and drafted proposed changes that were shared with the community for input. The Board of Directors then engaged an attorney to draft revised documents, and we shared unapproved versions of both the Declaration and the Bylaws with owners prior to the annual meeting. Owners provided helpful feedback at the annual meeting, and the Board worked with the attorney to make additional adjustments to accommodate that feedback. The proposed changes help to clarify restrictions that are ambiguous, address gaps and loopholes, improve understanding, and reorganize the documents to facilitate awareness and adherence. The proposed versions will be USPS mailed to your home along with instructions on how to vote.
