Walden Associations is completely ran by resident volunteers serving on the Board of Directors--not a management company! This creates a strong sense of community and keeps association dues much lower than other HOAs. The Board of Directors are nine volunteers who live in Walden and want to foster a sense of community and enhance Walden owners' experience of living in this unique neighborhood.
The Board members meet monthly to share updates, ideas for new initiatives, and vote on business items. We work together to oversee the operations of Walden. Some activities we perform:
Keeping owners notified of important information through emails and meetings
Developing an annual spending plan and voting on expenditures
Maintaining and sharing an owner directory with phone numbers
Mailing invoices and collecting annual dues
Hiring professionals and employees for maintenance of common grounds and the pool
Organizing events to bring people together and support our community
Voting on owners' exterior change requests to ensure alignment to neighborhood standards
Updating the Rules and Regulations document, as needed
If you would like to attend a Board meeting or are interested in joining the Board, please email Board@WaldenAssociation.org.
"I have served on the Board for multiple terms, and it's been so rewarding to see people with all different skills, knowledge, experience, and ideas work together to keep our neighborhood running--the teamwork is amazing! Serving on the Board gave me a unique opportunity to get to know others in the community and develop new friendships. Serving also has allowed me to practice and develop collaboration and leadership skills that I incorporated regularly at my day job, which led to promotions and career growth opportunities." -Rebecca
